Craft Love… Graduation Ring

Graduation Ring ukulele 073

We are having a bit of a graduation theme happening at the Contemporary Crafter this week as it is that time of year.

This beautiful ring was created for one of daughters by local jeweler, Kate Waters of People of Victory. I commissioned it to celebrate the end of fourteen years of school for one of my girls.

The ring features a stamped design which depicts our family and that Kate has used before for another gift for another daughter. I like that connectedness between the girls and their individual pieces of jewellery. The stamp is repeated to represent the six of us, so it shows one male and one female figure on either side of the stone ie the parent figures and then shows another three female and one male figure being indicative of the four children. The actual stone is a sapphire which Kate sourced on her recent trip to Thailand.

The inside of the ring is engraved with my daughter’s initials and the year of graduation.

Hopefully we (Kate and I but of course mostly Kate) have created a beautiful and lasting piece to commemorate this very special time in my daughter’s life.
